The question of who boiled the first noodle is open to debate but there is no doubt it was in Italy that pasta achieved (or overachieved) its full potential.

Use lots of water when cooking pasta, about four cups of lightly salted, rapidly boiling water per cup of uncooked pasta. Whether you use fresh or dried pasta, the most important thing to remember is to not overcook it.
